Hard to believe 3 weeks have already passed since we hosted Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund The Wall That Heals in our community. Final numbers are in, we had 7,487 visitors to The Wall and honored 88 Vietnam Veterans with a commemorative pinning. We shared stories, hugs and tears but mostly we showed support to our Veterans and their families. We have so many to thank for their contribution, without you it would not have been possible, this was a true community effort, WAY TO GO CABOT!
To Amy Williams, without you planting the seed of bringing the Wall to Cabot none of this would have been possible, thank you. To Criswell Robinson Post 71, Mount Carmel, Maverick Transportation, LLC, City Of Cabot and Mickey Spillane for their commitment to making this vision come true, thank you. To Cabot A&P and all the businesses and individuals that donated to help cover the expenses of bringing the Wall thank you. To the 100+ motorcycle riders, Arkansas Patriot Guard Riders Inc., Cabot Police Department, and Cabot Fire Department that helped with escorting the Wall to town, and all those that lined the highway and streets to show support thank you. To all volunteers, the ones that helped set up the Wall, the ones that helped those that visited the Wall, to the American Legion Riders Post 13 Hot Springs Arkansas who guarded the Wall each night, and the ones that helped take the Wall down we couldn’t have done it without all your help! Thank you to Subway and La Torcia Brick Oven Pizza for feeding all our volunteers. To all those that came out and visited the Wall thank you for showing love and support to our Veterans. To the ones coordinating the special ceremonies thank you.
To everyone in our community that came together, all our sponsors, community partners, volunteers, and everyone that visited, your effort and presence honored those that paid the ultimate sacrifice and aided in the healing process of surviving Veterans and our Gold Star families. We might have missed naming some, but thank you, it took everyone to make this possible and we are deeply appreciative of all that was done! From all of us at the Cabot Chamber of Commerce, we just want to say it has been an honor to work with all of you, thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
Great things happen when communities come together!
