ARKANSAS STATE UNIVERSITY AT BEEBE: ASE Presents Registered Apprenticeship Truck Initiative

Arkansas State University at Beebe issued the following announcement on May 28.

The Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Education Foundation presented the ASE Registered Apprenticeship Truck Initiative on the ASU-Beebe Searcy campus to technicians, education leaders and industry partners. Senator Jane English was also in attendance.

The Office of Skills Development, a division of the Arkansas Department of Commerce, coordinated the event. Dr. Jason Goodner, ASU-Beebe Vice Chancellor for Academics, welcomed the group. Stephanie Isaacs, Associate Director of the Office of Skills Development introduced the first speaker, Kenneth Calhoun, Fleet Optimization Manager for Altec Service Group. ASE Education Foundation Vice President George Arrants, presented on the ASE Registered Apprenticeship Truck Initiative, followed by former program intern Danny Delapp, a preventative maintenance technician with the Walmart Supply Chain Division.

The event provided an opportunity to learn more about attracting and retaining future technicians into the career field, as well as a chance to view the wide array of trainers, tools, and trucks on display, tour the Be Pro Be Proud demonstration trailer and speak with industry professionals.
