St. John the Baptist Church – Cabot issued the following announcement on Mar. 13.
According to current Church law, Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of fast and abstinence, and the other Fridays of Lent are days of abstinence.
Abstinence obliges those 14 and older to refrain from meat, and soup or gravy made from meat.
A day of Fast allows those aged 18 to 59 just one full meal, and as many as two smaller meals, which together do not equal a full meal.
