Arkansas Bar Association issued the following announcement on Mar. 4.
With the military activity in Ukraine, there have been several reports of increased cyber threat activity in Europe and here in the United States. The Arkansas Department of Transformation and Shared Services offers a few suggestions to help keep us alert and proactive during this time.
Be aware of phishing emails and text messages
• Check the “from” email address for signs of
fraudulence
• Watch for misspellings and incorrect grammar
• Be suspicious of hyperlinks: Hover over each link to verify and validate the web address before clicking
• Be careful with all attachments, and do not open questionable ones
• Be skeptical of urgency: It’s a common characteristic of phishing
• Protect your personal information
• Consider the time and date: Any emails that land in your inbox outside of business hours should be viewed with caution
• Be vigilant and alert and report any suspicious activity to the appropriate individuals and departments in your organization
