City of Lonoke issued the following announcement on Aug. 20.
Big Win for the City today! and we owe the County thanks for stepping in and lending support to remove two large steel culverts; one of which was 100% blocked by a swimming pool liner, the other half collapsed.
This will definitely improve the rate of water flowing away from the City during periods of heavy rain and hopefully further alleviate high water in the south part of town.
*The City is acting on recommendations provided through a recent United States Army Corp of Engineers survey.
Our drainage study is still on going, of which all portions of the City are included.
