Earlier this week Council Member Harbort (Ward 2, Position 1) resigned effective February 28, 2023 citing demands from his full-time employment that will cause him to miss too many council meetings over the next year. I’d like to thank Mr. Harbort for his dedication to the city and for his time on the Council. His inputs will be missed.

At the next City Council meeting on March 28 (postponed from March 20), the council will declare Ward 2, Position 1 as vacant. If you live in Ward 2 and are eligible to hold public office, you will need to turn in an Affidavit of Eligibility to City Clerk Rummel (Admin Office) not later than noon, April 17, 2023. The Affidavit and a map of the Voting Wards are on the City’s website, www.wardarkansas.org.

Again, you MUST live in Ward 2. If you have any questions, please feel free to call or text me at 501-743-2501 (c) or via email mayor@cityofward.com. (Mayor Gastineau)
