CITY OF TRUMANN: Water Meter Project

CITY OF TRUMANN: Water Meter Project
0Comments

City of Trumann issued the following announcement on July 1.

For well over a year the City has been planning to replace all City of Trumann water meters with radio read meters–the newest technology–which can be read from the Water office through electronic collection and migrated into our billing system. The fixed base stations are already in place and 20 meters have been placed with randomly chosen customers. Those meters will begin the operation of the system. After July 4th, mass installation will begin; the installation will take 45 to 60 days to complete. Door hangers will be placed on all customer doors notifying them of a time the change will be made. The total project will cost approximately 1.2 million dollars. The change out will not affect water rates. Rates are set by ordinance approved by the City Council. We in the City are pleased to be able to provide this service to our citizens and customers. This system will be accurate, quick and efficient; no field labor or fuel will be used to read meters.
