City of Lonoke issued the following announcement on Mar. 2.

Congratulations Lonoke Police Department’s Detective Cody Carpenter, Officer Brandon Ray and Arkansas State Police Cpl. Mark Blackerby for being Awarded Lonoke County Officers of the Year 2021, Arkansas Central Region 2021 Officers of the Year and Arkansas 2021 Officer’s of the Year. They were Honored today at the 2021 Outstanding Law Enforcement Officer of The Year Awards hosted by Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge. These outstanding Officers were given these awards from their Honorable Actions that saved the life of a 14 year old girl that was abducted from North Carolina in February 2021.

Law Enforcement Officers all cross the world put their lives on the line daily for humanity. There are a multitude of Officers that do not make it home at the end of their shift yearly. Today at the Award Ceremony we Honored the ones that did not make it home last year. I could not help but reflect on how Blessed we were that we did not loose one of our own that night. We almost did and I cannot thank God enough for His intervention!

I have a phenomenal staff of police officers and dispatchers. We are surrounded by Awesome Law Enforcement brothers and sisters that back us everyday and night! The Citizens of the City of Lonoke should be extremely Proud that we can go to sleep at night knowing that we are well protected.

Congratulations

Gentlemen! Well deserved!!!
