Arkansas State University—Searcy issued the following announcement on April 29.

The Staff Senate at Arkansas State University-Beebe recently presented the Third Quarter Shining Star Award to Tonya Tucker, Associate Registrar.

Tucker has worked for the institution for almost 20 years. She began her journey in the Admissions Office for two years before transferring to the Registrar’s Office, where she has been ever since. She received her bachelor’s degree in Business Management from A-State in 2010. Tucker was very involved with the Beebe Badger Booster Club, and now enjoys attending sporting events supporting the Badgers. Something many may not know is that she loves to ride rollercoasters. When asked what are her favorite words to live by she offered this: “listen first, speak second.”

For her nomination, some of the comments included: “Tonya is constantly pushing forward and always doing her best. She always has a good attitude at work and is very friendly to all of the students and staff that she encounters. She is someone that approaches a problem with a clear head and vast institutional knowledge” and “Most of all, Tonya is a great representative of ASU-Beebe and its mission, vision, and values.”

The Staff Senate presents the award each quarter to an outstanding staff or faculty member who ‘shines like a star, inspires others, and contributes to student success at ASU-Beebe.’
