Arkansas State University at Beebe issued the following announcement on Feb. 19.

Great presentation yesterday on “Teaching in the Pandemic: Global Collaboration Projects Via Canvas” at the 10th Annual Faculty Technology Showcase held at Harding University. Those presenting included Margaret Lowry, a practical nursing student; Eddie Supratman, assistant professor of history and religion; Stephanie Ungerank, director of instructional design/distance learning; and Korey Davis, instructor of psychology and sociology.
The session highlighted how ASU-Beebe used its educational technology during the pandemic to deliver the best global experience to students.
The Global Classroom was a 6-week group project dealing with the Central American migration crisis that used classes already being taught by ASU-Beebe faculty members and paired them with complementary parallel courses taught at UNICAES in Santa Ana, El Salvador. A total of 134 students and 11 instructors from various disciplines participated in the project.
